Grizzlython Winners

Grizzlython, the largest Solana hackathon to date, has announced its prize track winners.

There’re too many projects worth mentioning — if you'd like to take a deep dive, click here.

Now, let's look at 5 of the most notable Grizzlython winners:

  • Underdog API, the Zapier of Web3, enables businesses of all sizes to seamlessly integrate dynamic NFTs into their existing products and services. Underdog API does this by leveraging businesses’ current IT stack, making Web3 use cases easier to test, explore, and commercialise.

  • Sujiko is a derivatives DEX for NFT perpetual futures. The Solana platform allows users to trade blue chip Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon NFTs with as little as $1 — all while ensuring fast transactions and low fees. Additionally, Sujiko enables traders to hedge against the risks of their NFT portfolio by offering short positions. Also, traders can gain exposure to NFTs on Sujiko without owning NFTs, eliminating wallet drains and making the overall trading experience more secure. In essence, Sujiko is well-positioned to enhance the capital efficiency of the fragmented NFT market and push the boundaries of DeFi on Solana.

  • DBL DEX represents the next evolution in on-chain matching primitives: Periodic Double Auction. This is not only a first on Solana DeFi, but across all of DeFi.

  • Tap is a cash app that makes earning, sending and spending cash effortless. Exiter features include a credit card on-ramp, P2P transfers, and an Android app.

Tamperproof allows for the on-chain distribution of coupons, gift cards and tickets. The protocol does this by encrypting, embedding, and sealing secrets into Solana NFTs.

Charts Of The Week

News Bites

State Compression: State compression, a new way to store data on Solana that lowers costs significantly, might usher in a new wave of Web3 products and services — especially when these rely on the minting and airdropping of millions of NFTs.

One notable use case of compressed NFTs is DRiP — a platform that airdrops free NFTs to thousands of users each week.

Another interesting use case is the distribution of compressed NFTs coupons through Solana Pay.

If you'd like to do some ideation on compressed NFTs, this calculator might be helpful:

Decentralised Computing: The Render Network is now well on the way for its Solana migration. Here's why that’s significant:

OPOS Movement: The Only Possible On Solana (OPOS) movement is spreading on Crypto Twitter, highlighting which products and services can only be built on Solana. In this context, Step Data released a new guide that examines the common arguments against Solana and helps refute them.

Solana Mint: Kanpai Pandas, a multichain NFT project, will conclude its final mint of 1,000 NFTs on Solana. As of now, the project already minted NFTs of its collection on Ethereum, BNB, Polygon, AVAX, Fantom, Arbitrum, and Optimism chains.

Bonk Cross-Chain: Users that hold Ethereum and BSC tokens can now trade the popular BONK token by accessing cross-chain swaps on Mayan.

Solana Soccer: Matchday is building out a casual football management game for mobile on Solana. Matchday is also FIFA's first and only officially licensed Web3 product.
